WhatsApp campaigns
Send an approved WhatsApp template to the customers you choose, personalize it per customer, and follow delivery, reads, replies and opt-outs.
Outbound sends an approved WhatsApp template to a list of your customers — a restock alert, an order update, a promotion. Each message is personalized per customer, sent from your connected WhatsApp number, and tracked from sent to replied. When a customer replies, the campaign message and the reply appear together in your Inbox, answered by your AI agent or by your team.
Outbound is available on paid plans All plans.
Prerequisites
- A connected WhatsApp number.
- At least one approved Marketing or Utility template on that number. Create and sync templates under Channels → WhatsApp → your number → Templates.
- Customers with a phone number (with country code), or a CSV to import.
- A payment method in your Meta Business account: Meta charges for each template message it delivers. Rates depend on the customer's country and the template category.
Only send campaigns to customers who agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp. Asks asks you to confirm this before every send, and Meta lowers your number's quality and limits when many people block or report your messages.
Create a campaign
Go to app.asks.app/outbound and click New campaign. On Setup:
- Send from — the WhatsApp number the campaign goes out from.
- Replies — AI agent replies (your agent answers, like any WhatsApp conversation) or Your team replies (replies wait in the Inbox for your team; the AI stays out).
- Campaign name and Template. If a new template doesn't show, click Sync from Meta.
- Personalization — fill each template variable from the customer's details (first name, full name, email, phone, or a detail your AI agent collected) or with fixed text. Add a fallback for customers whose value is empty; without one, those customers are skipped rather than sent a blank. Templates with a dynamic link button or a coupon code get their own fields, and media headers need the image, video or PDF uploaded here.
The preview on the right shows the message as a customer sees it. Use Preview as to switch customers.
On Audience, pick Everyone who matches your filters — tags, a collected detail, last contact, "Only customers who've messaged you on WhatsApp", and search — and untick anyone to leave out, or Pick customers one by one.
To reach a list from outside Asks, click Import CSV: map the phone column (with country code), and optionally name and email, give the import a tag, and the imported customers become the audience.
The count shows who will receive the message and who is skipped: customers without a usable phone, opted-out numbers, and a second customer with the same phone (each number gets the campaign once).
Click Review and send, check the summary, choose Send now or Schedule for later, confirm that these customers agreed to receive WhatsApp messages, and send. A scheduled campaign starts at the time you chose, in your time zone; you can edit or cancel it until then.
Follow delivery
The campaign page shows queued, sending, sent, delivered, read, replied and failed counts, the delivery funnel (each step as a share of the messages sent), and every recipient with their timestamps and, for failures, Meta's reason. Export recipients downloads the list as CSV. The Outbound list shows each campaign's progress at a glance.
Meta limits (top right of Outbound) shows each number's daily limit — how many different customers it can start conversations with in a rolling 24 hours — its message quality, and how many customers your campaigns reached in the last 24 hours. A campaign that reaches the limit waits and continues automatically when the window frees up.
A campaign pauses — with the reason on its page — when every remaining message would fail the same way: the number was disconnected or its access expired, Meta reports a payment problem, the template was paused or disabled, Meta limited sends for quality, or your plan no longer includes Outbound. Fix the cause and click Resume. Cancel campaign stops the messages that haven't gone out; messages already sent keep their status.
Replies
A campaign message doesn't open a conversation on its own, so sending never fills your Inbox. When a customer replies — within 7 days, or by replying to the message itself — the campaign message is added to their conversation, labelled with the campaign, followed by the reply, and the conversation's ticket is tagged Campaign: name.
- AI agent replies — your AI agent sees the campaign message and answers like any WhatsApp conversation, and hands over to your team when needed. See Escalation & handoff.
- Your team replies — the conversation goes straight to Needs human, with a note naming the campaign.
Opt-outs
A customer who replies STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, BERHENTI, BAJA, PARAR, or taps Meta's Stop promotions button) is opted out of all future campaigns and gets a short confirmation; START subscribes them again. When Meta reports that a customer stopped marketing messages, they are skipped for Marketing templates. See and manage the list under Outbound → Opt-outs, where you can also add a number by hand.
